Sooooo - I removed the leaves from most of the leaf stems and started gluing them on - again. Only this time to the flower stems. I decided to keep just a few of the leaf stems. Then I 'planted' them into some dirt on a piece of baking paper. i couldn't get to my clay, so I improvised by using glue with the dirt over it. Here is the result, again against a ruler to show it's size. And again it is just 2cm wide (less than 1 inch).
Boy, do I love the macro lens on my new camera! I cut the stems the length suggested in Susan's instructions, and this is the size it ended up. I think maybe for the next one I might try a larger shrub by cutting the stems longer, and see how it goes.
Here's a closer view of the bush. I'm really, really happy with it.
And guess what - I am part way through the next kit of the same flower. I must be bonkers! If I'm not, I soon will be.
Sandra, Thank you for welcoming me! I love your flowers, you are a very talented artist.I don't have soooo much patience as you do. Natalia
ReplyDeleteHi Natalia, thanks for taking a look here. I guess the flowers are just like when I do the mini petitpoint - a little bit at a time and I find it fascinating and want to see what it will look like when I do a little bit more.... and I love the realism that the flowers bring to a little cottage.
ReplyDeleteOf course you are bonkers. Didn't I say so????
ReplyDeleteMoly,if I imagine litle hanging baskets in 1/4, I feel an attack of bonkerdom coming up....
Cheers,
Elly
Hahahaha - Elly it really made me laugh when I read that! This from the person who is doing such a magnificent job of the wonderful - and large - Boria (all 35cm length of it!!!!) on 40hpi silk gauze! Those petitoint stitches make the flowers in the hanging basket look enormousa!
