And this one is here too....

As I said on the post for ‘The Washtub Cottage’ – they arrived today. Quite a small parcel – an envelope in fact, albeit padded – but with such possibilities inside! I’m rather intimidated by the thought of doing all that brickwork so perfectly though – it’s all marked out by hand! But the techniques learned from doing these projects are going to be so valuable, and the challenge will be worth it. These are not projects to be done in a hurry, or with a deadline in mind. These are projects to be done with care and precision. So I am not going to even attempt to do them for the Sydney Fair, I think. That is on the first weekend in May, which is barely a month away and to have one completed by then would involve a bit push. With everything else I have going at the moment that would mean things would get rushed.

  1. Hi Sandra
I tried to email you the other day but it bounced back at me! Can you email me when you get chance - it would be nice to keep in touch. I hope you are going to do step by step photos for the Petite Properties as I aan't wait to see how they are done.
    hugs

  2. Hi Claire, did you use my new email address? I'll get in contact. And yes, I have a journal for every one of my projects. As I go I photograph each step (and each part of each step if that is relevant) and download it into the relevant part of the journal. Then I print out the whole thing and keep it in one of those display books - so I have it on the computer and a hard copy for each project.

  3. Hi Sandra, I finally decided to try and make a 1:48 project and ordered the Corner Shop kit yesterday. I just had a good look at the photos you made until now and o dear forgot how tiny this all is :-) In your last post you are writing about the stone structure. Where did you find the mould especially for 1:48 size for this? I will keeping you up to date and know I am going to learn a lot from looking at your photos and reading your blog.

  4. Hi Chris - good on you! This is quite an old post, if you look further on you will see my completed Corner Shop (the first one anyway, I have ordered a second one vbg). I didn't use a mould for this one though I do have one, which I bought from Suzanne and Andrews miniatures. I used it for the chimney on StoryBook Cottage, and also used the stone mould for the edges of the garden on the same cottage.

  5. Hi Sandra, I looked at the other posts but I did not notice you actually made (or are making) two corner shops. Hopefully my kit will arrive tomorrow :-) Hugs from Chris
