Ground floor interior - at last!

I meant to mention earlier that on Saturday night I checked the lights for the ground floor and  it immediately was obvious that one of the wires had come apart so that was easily fixed and all the lights worked.  I wasn't happy with the spackling over the wires so I did them with wood filler.  I should really have taken the wires out and re-set them but didn't.

Tonight I finally started on the interior, papering the living area of the ground floor with the sunflower wallpaper.  I have glued in the inside windows on that side and also glued on the quilling paper 'skirting boards'.  The instructions said to paper the other side with heavy paper, painted the same colour as the exterior of the house.  Well, first of all I don't have any heavy paper here with me and I wanted to do the dining area tonight.  And secondly I didn't want to do the dining area the colour of the exterior.  So I painted the walls in an avocado green that I mixed myself by making up another mixture of khaki green and adding white to lighten it.  It has had 3 coats.  The first was too dark so I added more white to part of the mixture.  That coat was too pale so I mixed the two together and have come up with what it is now.  I don't mind the colour and it looks reasonably okay with the wallpaper.  I want to see it in daylight before I decide for sure though.  I have just sat the sunflower border and the windows in place on that side for now until I decide.

And I know that the living room wallpaper overlaps into the dining room but that will be covered with the room divider.  I have it in my furniture kits but can't get to it at the moment.  It is under the bed here in the caravan and Peter has removed the hydraulic lifters to replace them.  The bed is too heavy for me to lift without them, let alone lift and hold while I retrieve a container from underneath!

I'm content with tonight's progress, and am looking forward to hopefully being able to glue the border and windows in permanently, and add the ceiling/first floor.  Kylie and I are going to a card class tomorrow morning so I probably won't get to it until Saturday night but I might be able to get a bit of time tomorrow afternoon.  Fingers crossed.
