AND THE WINNERS ARE.......

First I want to thank you all once again for your interest and support.  It was fun making the gifts for this giveaway, an expression of my appreciation for your interest, comments, motivation and your encouragement.  I never become tired of expressing my gratitude that you are willing to have a look at what I am doing or saying and to take the time to say something.

So - here we go!  My darling grandsons did the drawing for me after school today.  First of all Luke (age 6) being the youngest insisted on going first.  He drew the name for the carpet in 1:12th scale.

Here he is, mixing all the names in the bowl - slightly distracted by his paddlepop.  Quite excusable really since it was still 39degC here at the time!

Then with the bowl held above his head, he drew one of the names out.......

And that name was...........

Congratulations, Chris P!  If you could leave a comment here on this post within the next 7 days giving me your email address, I will post the comment but not your private details.

Next was the draw for the 1:48th scale gift, the carnations.  Cameron (age 10) did the honours for this one.

He took the whole thing very seriously.  Mixing the names really well just to make sure.....

He held the bowl above his head by himself (and gave it another stir)......and drew out a name

And the winner for the flowers is..........

Congratulations Ana! If you could also leave a comment here on this post within the next 7 days giving me your email address, I will post the comment but not your private details.

So there are the winners.  If I don't hear from one of you within the time, I will redraw for that prize.

Thank you again for entering and I look forward to the next giveaway :)

Last chance for Giveaway!

Here is your last chance to enter my 200 Followers Giveaway.  There's a couple of days extra because of a problem with the trough of geraniums which has necessitated that I make a replacement one.  I'm pleased with it though, in fact I think it is better than the original.  It is fortunate that I had a couple of kits for geraniums away with me when I came to my daughter's place!

Here is the completed rug.

As I said before, it is small, measuring just around 4 1/4 inches by 3 inches.   This makes it suitable for either a 1:12th scale setting or a 1:24th scale.  It still needs blocking properly but I wanted to show you the completed stitching.  The soft colours are very pretty and I think the Morris design is charming.  I plan to do one for myself also now.

And here is the new tub of geraniums.

It will be accompanied by the hanging basket as before.

Here is the list as I have it at the moment.  Please check that your name is on it and that you are down for the scale you want.  If people haven't specified I have just put them down for the little rug.

Wow! We've reached the 'magic' figure: Giveaway is open

What a lovely surprise when I opened the blog to respond to a comment and found that not only had we reached 200 Followers but surpassed it!  I want to thank all of you my friends, once again, for the encouragement and support you offer.  Without your interest there would be no point in my sharing on this blog.  Because I can see from the pageviews that people check out the blog regularly I am motivated to show you what I am  doing with various projects.  Because you leave comments, I am encouraged in my efforts and I appreciate so much that you take the time and make the effort to write those words that mean a lot to me.  I am especially grateful that there are those who regularly post a comment, sometimes almost as soon as I post!  I can't really express properly how much encouragement it gives, because as I have often said, I don't have people close to me who really appreciate or understand my fascination with the miniature world, or my drive to create miniatures.  They tolerate it but don't understand it, and if I get a 'very nice' in response when I show something, that is the most I can expect.

So you can understand how much this online community means to me, with you wonderful people!

And now I want to welcome the newest Followers: Winnie and Terrie who don't mention a blog, and Selena, who has a blog (selena-primiteveco.blogspot.com.au) with some dolls in a style I haven't seen before, dressed in a wide variety of costumes.  There are other new followers too, to bring the total to 203, but you must have chosen the anonymous option so I can't work out who you are, but you are equally welcome! I do hope you all enjoyed visiting here and that you will come back often and leave lots of comments - I do love to hear what you think, whether it is constructive criticism or appreciation.  And yes, when I ask for suggestions - or even if I don't, I do appreciate receiving those too.  I much prefer this to be an interactive site!

So now the giveaway is open!
I will hopefully have the photo of the finished rug after the weekend - sorry it is not completed yet, but I have had a series of migraines which have left me with very blurry vision.  I can't do it this week because I am preaching again this Saturday and I need to finish off the preparation for the sermon.

However, here is a photo of progress so far:
The border area that isn't done yet will be done in a paler gold.

For the 1:48th scale giveaway, I will put a photograph of the gift after the weekend too. It will be something in the floral line again, I am thinking of a couple of pots of flowers - geraniums for one if not both.
Edit: 7th November - here are the flowers for the 1:48th scale section of the giveaway.  Remember you are welcome to enter both draws.  Just mention that you would like to do so, so that I know to list your name for both of them :)

The  quarter scale draw has two parts.  The first is a hanging basket of geraniums.  The little silver bit you can see in the photo is the hanger.  The pot is around 3/16" across.

The second is also geraniums, this time in a planter about 1 1/8" long.

I hope you like these flowers and can find a use for them if you do quarter scale buildings!  .
Here they are both together.

Conditions for entering
1. Be a follower of this blog.
2. Leave a comment after this post saying you'd like to enter the 1:12th scale (rug) AND/OR the 1:48th scale (flowers) giveaway.
3. It is optional whether you want to put a link on your blog.  If you choose to do so, please mention that you have.

The draw will take place on Sunday 25th November, Australian Eastern Standard Time (well, daylight saving time for New South Wales) and I will post the results.
